Terms and Conditions

Dear Guest,

For the services contracted, some advance payment should be made to hold the booking on a confirmed basis and the balance amount can be paid either before your departure from your country/state or upon arrival in INDIA.-but definitely before the commencement of the services. We hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as an advance payment, based on the nature of services and the time left for the commencement of the services.


Travel in Kashmir (A Unit of Friends Travel Services) and its associates acts only in the capacity of an Agent for the Hotels, Airlines, Transporters, Railways & the contractors providing other services & all exchange Orders, Receipts, Contracts & Tickets Issued by us - are issued subject to Terms & Conditions under which these services are provided by them. The Tickets, Coupons or Passage Contract in use by Carrier / Hotel or other contractors rendering services shall constitute the sole contract between the Clients and such contractor. Any Special Airfare Ticket purchased in conjunction with Tour cannot be cancelled or changed.


All Itineraries are sample Itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the likely trip schedule. Numerous factors such as Weather, Road Conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. Friends Travel Services. reserves the right to amend any aspect of the itinerary including Transportation and Accommodation without notice in the interest of the Trip, Participant's Safety, Comfort and General well being without making any rebate, allowance or refund and extra cost, if any, would be payable by the client.


Tour Advance

  • A token advance of 30% of the total estimated bill is required to hold the Bookings on Confirm basis you are requested to Deposit in the below bank. Rest of the payment you can pay us in Srinagar Or in our Delhi office upon arrival.
  • If Air tickets are included in the trip 100% payment in Advance.
  • Apart from the above in some cases like special train journeys, hotel or resort bookings during the peak season (X-Mas, New Year) Full payment is required to be sent in advance.

You can deposit the amount at any of the ICICI Bank Branch near you in our current a/c. And inform us through E Mail or by phone. Please send us an email specifying your address after you've deposited the amount. We shall email the hotel services voucher to you upon receipt of your response. Or we can send you Hard copies to your Address by courier. Or you can get same in our Srinagar office. Or in our Delhi office. All payments should be free and clear of any withholding tax and deduction. Bank charges, if any, for remittance (by remitting bank or by intermediary bank) would be strictly borne by payer. In case of payment through credit card, the bank charges (4% extra) - would be levied over and above the total amount.

There are certain aspects of the Tour which, we as Travel Agents, do not have any control. Hence we are making you aware of such areas so you too can enlighten your clients. One such aspect is shopping. Lots of sellers will come to the Hotels & Houseboats to sell their goods. We take no responsibility whatsoever for the rates and quality. Second such aspect is pony rides in Sonmarg, Gulmarg & Pahalgam. We take no responsibility for services and charges of Ponywallas Snowsledgeswallas. Though for Tourist's Convenience the Union rates are displayed at most of the places. Third aspect is power cuts. These are regular and sometimes for long durations. Hotels & Houseboats have generator back-up but only up to 11 p.m. at night after which the generators are switched off due to noise disturbance. The clients are provided with Torch light. Transfers by Shikara from Shikara ghat to houseboat and back are provided free of cost. However, occasionally during the season you may have to wait for 5-10 minutes for the Shikara to come and pick you up as each Houseboat has one attached Shikara.


The vehicle provided to the client is none air-conditioned and is not at his disposal. It is for the specific services as mentioned in the program. Local sightseeing in Gulmarg, Pahalgam & Sonmarg is not included. (Srinagar/Jammu vehicles are not allowed to do local sightseeing in Pahalgam & Gulmarg). In certain sensitive areas the vehicles are not allowed to stop or wait. We request you not to force the driver to stop the vehicle at such places, against his advice.


Arrival and Departure Policy:

  • Check-In Timings: 12:00 - 15:00 Hours
  • Check-Out Timings: 10:00 - 12:00 Hours
  • Later check-outs are available on request and subject to availability.
  • Early arrival is subject to availability. For guaranteed early check-in, reservation needs to be made starting from the previous night.

Policy Regarding Cancellation / NO SHOW / EARLY DEPARTURE:

In order to ensure that your trip is safe and enjoyable, we would like to mention the following :

  • In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:
    • 60 days & prior to arrival - 15% of the tour/service cost.
    • 59 days to 30 days prior to arrival - 20% of the tour/service cost.
    • 29 days to 15 days prior to arrival - 25% of the tour/service cost.
    • 07 days & less, prior to arrival or no show - NO REFUND.
    Please note :-

    Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs - incase of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us - a minimum 20% service charges would be applicable.
    In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount That too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

  • Refund

    In regard to refund of unused / unutilized services (which are paid for and cancelled in advance) the refund amount would be worked out on the basis of cancellation policy as described above and the money would be accordingly refunded to the person who has made the payment to us. Please note that the refund process may take 2 - 4 weeks due to banking procedures. If the refund is made to the credit card account OR to Bank account, the bank charges would be debited from the refund amount.

All disputes arising in connection with this Agreement shall be referred to an Arbitrator to be appointed by Friends Travel Services. All such disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi ( India ) Courts only. The laws of India shall govern the VALIDITY, INTERPRETATION, CONSTRUCTION, PERFORMANCE and ENFORCEMENT of these terms and conditions. For more information please visit www.friendstravelservices.com.
